hi Balboa friends!
A couple quick updates:
WEEKLY SERIES IS BACK!
We are back in good ol' Studio 5 at the Dance Complex in Cambridge, on Tuesdays in March! (A few days shy of exactly 4 years from our most recent weekly class back in 2020.) July & Stan will teach Intro to Balboa Fundamentals 1A, which will teach you the basic figures and techniques to get you out on the social floor, dancing Bal!
This intro series will be taught ELEF (Everybody Leads, Everybody Follows). We find ELEF to be incredibly helpful in getting started with lead-follow dancing, because you can feel how it works from both sides and have stronger skills right out of the gate. We know many dancers choose to stick with a single role thereafter, and many dancers keep loving both roles -- it's up to you at that point!

BoaSA:NTE Sunday March 3
Holy crap, it's already time for another BoaSA:Now Times
Edition! Join us Sunday March 3 at Salsa y Control from noon to
3:15pm! In the first hour, Nelle Cherry will be teaching for us
for the last time before leaving Massachusetts (*sob*), and will
break down the fundamental mechanics of rotational momentum that
will help you make the magic move -- PIVOTS -- so dreamy! All
students are expected to be comfortable with both Pure Balboa and
leading/following tossouts.
We'll then have an hour of open practice (where Nelle, July, Stan,
and others will be around to help troubleshoot and answer
questions) and in the final hour, we'll kick it open for social
dancing. (but also feel free to keep practicing)
12-12:15: check-in
12:15-1:15: class - The Magic of Pivots! (taught by Nelle Cherry; students are expected to be comfortable with Pure Balboa and Tossouts)
1:15-2:15: open practice / dancing
2:15-3:15: open social dancing
