Hey everyone,

Sorry I have to bring this up, but I called Meadhall and it's not going to be an ideal place to have this Boston Ruby town hall meeting. Both of their event rooms are booked and they are not going to seat us unless we're ordering dinner. So effectively, we would all be forced to stand up in a circle to conduct this meeting.

Kevin and I talked about this and we think that moving the 6pm meeting to an open room Dogpatch or CIC would be the best thing. But neither of us has a connection to those places. Can someone in this mailing list please help us book a room in Dogpatch or the CIC? Thanks.

Dan

PRX has kindly offered us their conference room for this meeting. It is a very short 2 minute walk from the Harvard T stop.

Would that be a problem for anyone?

That works great for me.  If that does fall through, most of the CIC's larger rooms are available tomorrow in our timeline.  I can book one if we need it.

Thanks for the feedback. If no one objects or no one secures a good room in CIC or Dogpatch by 5pm today, let's call that the new meeting location.

If the group showing up is small enough you might be able to get a room at the NERD

OK it's official! The Boston Ruby outreach and mentoring planning meeting is tomorrow, TUESDAY 6PM at Public Radio Exchange (PRX), 66 CHURCH ST, 2nd floor.

It's close to the Church St exit of the Harvard T stop. Walk past the Harvard Loews movie theater, Border Cafe, and Dado's Tea. It's near at the end of the block to you left. THANK YOU PRX!!!

Map it:

If you're planning to attend and interested in outreach and mentoring, please try to watch the first 20 minutes the Pycon presentation on Boston Python's diversity outreach strategy before the meeting. It is well worth 20 minutes of your time:

Hope to see you there,

Sorry for the indecision here.  I can get a CIC room - both the large training room, which seats ~45, and a nice big conference room, which seats ~15, are available.  If that's more convenient for all parties, lets switch there (I'm thinking the ~15 seater room, unless we think we'll get more people than that).

Unless you think the PRX room is a better fit.  Can you confirm/deny, Dan?

Dylan, was this email delayed? The timestamp is 4:45, but I didn't see it until just now (around 5:40pm).

Thank you for looking into CIC, I think we should just stick with PRX at this point. I've notified some Python people who might be able to advise us already not on this list that it's going to be at PRX. Plus it's a very nice office, and Harvard Sq is a nice change from the usual locations.

Yeah, my e-mails seem to get delayed to this list.  Weird.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to checking out PRX - I love listening to the Moth and can't wait to see their office!

A message to people planning on attending the meeting today at 6pm at PRX:

As a further gesture of support and hospitality, PRX would like to provide snacks for us. To help them figure out how much to buy, it would be really helpful if you added your name to an attendance list by say around 4pm.

It's a Google Doc:

Hey Daniel,

That file appears to be read only. Can you fix that?
