Sandglass' most celebratory outdoor event is accepting submissions of short form puppetry acts for our Puppets in Paradise weekend October 11th & 12th.
We will be accepting artist submissions from Tuesday, January 7th - Tuesday, January 28th, 2025. Notifications are expected to go out February 10th, 2025.
Puppets in Paradise brings together artists and audiences for a two-day celebration of puppetry and theater arts set in the beautiful agrarian landscape of Southern Vermont October 11th & 12th, 10am-4pm daily. This premier biennial family event is produced in collaboration with Retreat Farm, a prominent feature of the Brattleboro landscape for 180 years. At Puppets in Paradise audiences will walk around the farm and encounter short-form puppet performances, theater artists and musicians amidst the fields, historic barns and animals. Food and refreshments from local vendors add to the delight of a beautiful day.
Proposals must be around 8 minutes long, appropriate for family audiences (though don't necessarily need to be for kids), and able to perform outdoors with very limited technical capacity.
