Here’s a note from Al Hutchings we wanted to pass along . ..
Thanks for the kind words, Al, but Jessica and I are just happy you Nebraska fans take the time to show up every game! We always wish we were able to do more than actually gets done, too. (Chad and Ryan Borer certainly set the bar pretty high during the Big 12 championship game by showing what we could be doing! Thanks again guys!)
On the same subject, some of us were kicking around the idea of getting together a little bit in the off-season . . . maybe getting together to watch a Nebraska baseball game if it happens to be on ESPN, or just putting together a social event of some type (golf outing, Valentino’s dinner, Nebraska night at a bar, etc. etc.) If anyone on the list is interested in attending or helping to organize an event like that, please feel free to get in touch any time. It would be good to gauge the interest in the group, so include any suggestions you might have.
In the meantime, 84 days till the Spring Game!
Best Regards,
Paul Schreier

Subject: Thank you!
Dear Jessica and Paul,
First of all Happy New Year to you! I hope this note finds you well.
I’d like to take this time to thank you both for organizing the Husker football gatherings. I would also like to thank Tim, Chad and both of you for hosting the events. I had a great deal of fun watching the games and meeting all the Husker fans and alumni! And to have Val’s pizza, homemade runzas and the homemade ham and cream cheese appetizers at the Big XII Championship Game watch – couldn’t be beat! I hope that we can continue to grow as a group.
It’s pretty certain that there are a number of Husker alumni and fans that come to Boston every year for work or school. It’s always been wonderful to be able to meet them at the gatherings. I’ve related the story of meeting a family from Lincoln, while visiting St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. It happened again on New Year’s Day, just after watching the Cotton Bowl at the Sports Grille. I met some current UNL students at the Old North Church. They watched the game over at Cheers. I’ve run into Nebraskans, alumni and fans all over the Boston area - on the T, on the Freedom Trail…
Please feel free to forward this to all in the group. Hope we can get together as a group soon!
My best to all,
Al
