Some letters which reference Jam Jars

Dear BFers:

These letters between the late essayist Guy Davenport and the composer Michael Alex Rose contain numerous references to the work of Joyce, which, a letter tells us, was called by British novelist Ivy Compton-Burnett "Jam Jars" after a mis-hearing. Wonderful.
