Several of us are helping organize a Secular Solstice for next Saturday (12/27) evening. It's not explicitly an EA event, but it does have many EA themes (celebrating human progress, courage in the face of dangers we still face), and you might be interested in attending!
It's 6:30pm at Connexion (149 Broadway in Somerville). If you haven't been to a Secular Solstice in this style before, expect:
* Alternating speeches and songs
* Some social pressure to join in the singing
* Discussion of somber subjects, including death, in some speeches
