Stuff around town

October at Bluesy Tuesy - Grab Bag!

with We’ll See!

Different teachers teach a new topic each week! Stay tuned on the Facebook group for more info.

October at Blues Union - Being a Goofball

with Jenn & Forrest

There is a lot to be said for silliness. It can entertain, and it can inspire. Whether you're looking to have more fun on the dance floor, or further develop your own style, exaggeration is a great artistic tool. In this series we'll use fun exercises and games to help release your creativity. Come prepared to laugh and to get weird!

**If you’ve taken 6 months or more of blues classes at Blues Union or Bluesy Tuesy, you can take the intermediate classes at Blues Union. Alternately, you can do a blues interview with Jenn or Julie at the Blues Clinic.

September’s Blues Clinic is Oct 1st!

To accommodate Dirty Water Lindy & Blues Exchange, we moved September’s Blues Clinic to Oct 1st. Luckily, October has five Thursdays, so we still get the usual number of monthly classes :)

Blues Union Raffle!

At the September(ish) Blues Clinic, we’ll be raffling off a sweet “dancer care package”! For every class you attend in September, you get one ticket in the raffle (so attend more classes to increase your chance of winning)! For October, the prize will be a free month at Blues Union! This includes both the classes and the dance.

Earn free dances while spreading the love of blues!

When you dance at a blues bar, music event, or other blues bomb (or if you teach at a local college), bring some blues ambassador business cards to hand out! If people come to dances for their first time with your card, you get in that night for free! Talk to Andrew at Bluesy Tuesy or Julie Brown or Jenn Martinez at Blues Union to get yourself some cards.

Live music where you can go dance!

Jan Marie & the Mean Reds at Ryles Oct 9

Jan Marie & The Mean Reds return to Ryles Jazz Club for more jazz, blues, soul, and swing. All for the low, low price of $10. Pay in advance or at the door. More info here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1627459327526496

Jan Marie and the Mean Reds at Sally O'Briens Oct 25

Sunday, Oct 25 from 5-7p, round out your weekend with good tunes and still get to bed for that Mon morning meeting. We'll be playing our regular hits, plus some spooky songs, too. Since this is the last weekend before Halloween, feel free to get in the costuming spirit. Jan Marie sure will.
