Hi All,
Brandeis is seeking an instructor for Field Biology next fall. I'm happy to answer questions.
Best,
Colleen
The Department of Biology at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for the BIOL 32a, Field Biology course in the Fall 2023 semester.
This course introduces students to basic field research methods, skills of species identification, and the use of dichotomous keys and field guides to identify the biodiversity of Southern New England. Students will partake in field explorations primarily focused on campus and complemented by nearby local field trips. The course introduces basic principles of natural history to understand how these principles are shaped by natural selection and evolution.
The class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:20 - 5:10pm.
Candidates with a MS or PhD in Biology and experience teaching on the collegiate level will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, CV, a draft course syllabus, and names and contact information for two references. The deadline for first consideration is June 15th.
This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
