Hello! Me again. I just started farming wave G in hmb (about 85ish percent with the 40:1 base), and I was wondering if anyone has any tips or base designs that would improve that percentage. I have a level 141 druid 5/9, level 140 (7 star) tg 5/9, 140 gr (7star) 5/9, and level 120 (6star) champ(4/9) and immo. (3/9). Any tips on this topic would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Sgt.
Just looked at your base. first question. When you do HBM do you take out the buildings from inside? If you do than upgrade your hero bases. When I had 40:1 I had hero bases at level 15 or 16. And oh yah have ur immo in the middle hero bases instead of tg. Try those

Thanks for the suggestions.
Thanks zee. I keep the buildings inside...well inside. And, my hero bases are level 14 (3) and 15 (2). I didnt really see a difference with moving immo and tg btw...

First of all, if you have a Town Hall level 17+, you should switch to one of the death box designs.
I'm using "caixa mod'd", and it works great for me... even better than 40:1 which i used for a
long time with good success. For TH 14-16, the 40:1 base is great, but some form of a death
box can also work as well with those lower-level TH's.

I posted a whole bunch of HBM tips a long time ago, which you can also read, but here's a
couple of things that may help...
1. Don't use green garrisons.
2. Remove all buildings from inside the walls except for towers and hero bases. The only
buildings i might consider leaving inside the walls are ones that have more HP than my
towers. Otherwise, those buildings would get destroyed easily, and the monsters would
switch their aggro onto the heroes.
3. The 40:1 base is sometimes susceptible to heroes running out and getting killed, which
can sometimes happen if the monster wave splits into 2 or 3 smaller waves. To help avoid
this, make sure there are no external buildings anywhere near the openings. Things tend to
work a lot better if your external builds all get killed in the 1st or 2nd waves.
4. When i started doing G, my towers were lvl 8 (except one was 7) and my hero bases
were 12, which are lower than your current levels. The important thing is that your towers
should be able to one-shot the griffins... that's pretty important.

If you still have problems, pay attention to what happens when you do fail... is it b/c of
heroes getting killed first, or towers? The answer to this will indicate what needs to be
tweaked in your base design.

Most of the time when I fail is because there is a pally just outside the towers reach. Other than that, its about a 1/20 chance that I lose because my heros do something stupid and die.

You might try moving all of your external buildings out of tower range, keeping
them closely bunched together in 2 or 4 groups.

If any of your heroes die, it should be because:
1. The enemies kill an internal building and then aggro onto your heroes, or
2. The wave splits, where the 1st wave draws your heroes out, and the 2nd
wave aggro's on your hero(es).

You can help reduce #2 from happening by adjusting the placement of your
external buildings (see my very first suggestion above). If #1 happens, you
probably should drop down to F until your heroes get stronger or you level
up your hero bases and/or towers (basically your heroes need to kill the
enemies faster, and/or your towers need to tank longer).

Base designs:

I personally like DeRouen's base. It's worked well for me through
HBM S. I know other people like War-Machine's base or
Hyuga16's base as well. Hyuga is a side base, and DeRouen and
WM are corner bases.

In HBM S, and also T, the giant Molt can kill your buildings if
he procs in the right direction. I'm not sure if it's possible to
level up your buildings that are inside your walls so they're
strong enough to survive this, but I know that luck plays a
significant part in passing S. The direction the spawns come
from can determine if you have no chance, or if you will have
a shot at taking down all the monsters.

The heroes that you use will also matter, of course, as well as
their placement within your base. PD and VD are necessities.
Some people leave out Cupid since his proc is rarely in sync
with the energy levels of your other heroes to make a big
difference, although the dmg buff can be nice. You also need
a healer or 2... GLM and/or Dru... GLM is better b/c of the
AOE dmg and dmg reduction, but Dru's dmg buff with no CD
can also be nice.

There are several ways to kill the giant Molt. Debuffers
(atk speed, atk dmg, and/or move speed, such as Molt/HQ),
heroes with high scatter to keep it from proccing, or pure DPS
(Succubus can be used here b/c the giant Molt has no dmg
cap in HBM S and T, although it can be tricky to keep her
alive until the last wave). Other AOE heroes can also be
very useful, such as SB and IMMO. SK can be used as
well b/c of his survivability and high dmg. Don't use heroes
like WL or DD. Having evolved heroes really helps b/c of their
increased HP and dmg.

Place ranged heroes, preferably flying ranged heroes, closest
to the fattest part of your walls, so they won't jump out and
get killed. Place PD in the very center since he's really
important. I place healers towards the back.

All your heroes that don't have Revive as a main talent
should have revive crests. Also use the appropriate
Artifacts on your heroes, to help them survive longer or
dish out more dmg.

As with most other challenges in the game, it's important to
observe what happens, so you can see where your weak
points are, and how you can change things in future runs.
Also, as mentioned before, luck does play a part in your
success, so keep trying and making adjustments until
you succeed. If you don't come that close to succeeding,
i suggest trying less often so you don't waste all your
turns for that tiny chance of success. Your odds will
improve as your heroes and buildings get stronger, but
you need to keep feeding your heroes with HBM R, or
whichever level you're able to sweep.

Some people have asked for a base for HBM T.
This is the one i used. I believe i got it from mhm.
I recommend using all magic towers for HBM S/T,
and they need to be garrisoned well (5/5/7 if
possible).

Of course you still need lucky spawns, strong
heroes, and strong buildings inside the walls.
Succubus can be useful in HBM T.
