These are the setups we are currently using for Infernal Summit 1 (IS1):
There are 2 base designs, one for the north/south spots, and one for
the east/west spots. I believe the lower picture, labeled "No.2" is for
the north/south positions. The upper picture, No.3, is for east/west.
IS1 requires very strong heroes (double-evolved), with high-level
skills, and lots of scatter. Depending on which heroes you use, you
may need at least 100 total scatter or more. This requires at least
2 heroes with scatter higher than level 5. If you use heroes whose
proc reduces energy (such as PK and HB), your need for scatter is
reduced. Just be aware that you need enough scatter to
counteract all the regular attacks AND proc hits that your heroes
will do. Using heroes that do damage-over-time will increase your
need for more scatter (such as GLM, VD, dusa, SB), as will heroes
that summon extra units (TT, BT, MIKE for example, as well as
enchantments such as Divine Templar, Pyremage and Blade Knight).
Also be aware that scatter crests on a hero with scatter talent
won't add more scatter. The goal is to keep the demons from
proccing, while having enough AOE/multi-shot damage to clear
the incoming waves.
Examples of heroes to use, in no particular order:
GS - warfliers have built-in scatter5, extra units do extra dmg
PK & HB - proc reduces energy, good DPS
Molt - nice debuff, AOE dmg
PD - dmg & atk speed buff with no cooldown
HQ - debuff, multi-shot dmg
Val - energy buff
CU - energy/dmg buff
ARC - AOE dmg, can freeze the demon
DG - the demon can be blinded, multi-shot dmg
GF - AOE dmg
Anub - strong debuff, great multi-shot dmg
Some of the heroes listed above have scatter as their ideal
talent, or can use scatter as one of their better talents. Two of
the best heroes for IS1 are Gunslinger and Anubis due to their
high damage output and global range. The dragons can be
very useful as well, for debuffs and AOE/multi-shot damage.
Crests: If the hero has scatter talent, use revive... otherwise,
use scatter crests.
Pets: Use pets that heal, and/or reduce dmg received, and/or
reduce energy (Bubb, Drako, Angi, Purr, Havoc).
Artifacts: Blitz on PD, Victor's or Goblet on everything else.
There is a dmg cap for the demon, so Axe isn't that
effective if each team brings a PD.
Buildings: use Magic or Arrow towers, with 5-5-7 garrisons
or higher. Towers, hero bases, and walls should all
be max level (30). It's debatable whether magic or arrow
towers are better... arrow towers do more damage, while
magic towers can be a double-edged sword (stuns can
both help or hurt with the incoming waves).
Team placement: All 4 teams should create a big diamond
at the bottom corner of the map. The person in the north
position needs to be really strong. If there is one person
who is significantly weaker, they should take the south
position (at the very bottom corner of the map).
These are just my recommendations. I'm sure it's possible
to have a decent win rate with other setups or other
requirements.
