Hero selection and placement:
1. You need a healer, and you need a
Pumpkin Duke. Ghoulem is preferred, but
Druid is acceptable. If you have Ghoulem,
put it in spot #1 and put PD in spot 3. If
you don't have Ghoulem, put PD in spot 1
and Druid in spot 2 or 3.
2. Spots 4, 5, and 6 should only be ranged
heroes. Do not place melee heroes here.
3. Vlad or Santa (or both if you have them).
If you don't have either of these, you won't
have a good success rate in WG3. These
heroes are needed to clear the waves
quickly, before they can proc. I prefer to
place Vlad in spot #5.
4. Aries is really useful to keep the demons
from proccing too often. Having a hero
with Eye of Garuda is also recommended
for the same reason.
5. Using Harpy Queen or Moltanica can
help negate some of the damage from the
demons (you don't need both, since you
also need some high DPS heroes).
6. Do not use heroes that can tank the
demons without dying, especially if they
are on one of the outer bases (spots 4,
5, or 6). Do not use Dread Drake or
Skull Knight. Any heroes with high life
drain should not be used, unless it's a
Pumpkin Duke or Ghoulem/Druid.
7. Do not use Cupid or Valentina. These
heroes have long cooldowns, and are
really only good on the 1st wave or in
short battles.
8. The remainder of your heroes should be
high-DPS heroes, specifically, heroes that
hit multiple times per second with their proc.
Recommendations are Phantom King,
Immortep, Snowzilla, Dracax, Medusa,
Lady Leo, and Beast Tamer.
The 4 players who join a WG3 run should
move as close to one edge of the map as
possible. This placement is preferred over
taking the center of the map, so that the
2 weaker players can be "sheltered" at the
edge of the map, and also to reduce the
chances of failure via a stalemate on that
side.
These are just my recommendations. As I
mentioned before, it's possible to succeed
with different or lesser requirements, but
everything I've mentioned above will boost
your odds. There always will be a chance
of failure due to the randomness of the
spawns.
