Hero Evolution info:

evo1 requirements:
1. a 10-star legendary hero (level 180, leveled up to 10-star)
2. a duplicate hero of the same type, a hero card of the same type, or 20k shards
3. 1k red crystals
4. an evolution rune (costs 1k fames in the warehouse)

evo2 requirements:
1. a 10-star evo1 legendary hero at level 185+
2. 3 duplicate heroes/cards, or 60k shards, or a combination of the two
(for example, 2 heroes + 20k shards, or 1 hero + 40k shards)
3. 2k red crystals
4. 5 evolution runes (costs 1k fame each)

When you evolve a hero, any experience past the minimum required
level is rounded UP to the next 500k increment, converted into
Blessed Tome II books (500k exp each), and given to you via the
in-game mail system. There is a table in the link shown at the very
top of this post, in the section called "Evolving to EVO1 Returned
Books", which you can view by clicking on the "show" link. It will
give you an idea of how many books you will receive, based on the
hero's level before you evolve it. If you want to more accurately
calculate how many books you will receive based on your hero's
current level PLUS its already-accumulated experience, you can
use this link to add up all the numbers:
You can then see if you need just to add just a little more
experience to get one additional 500k book. Or you can do what i
did, and create a spreadsheet to calculate this for you.

Once evolved, your hero will return to level 1, but will gain more
stats per level than a non-evolved hero (attack damage and HP).
It will also gain more might per level than a non-evolved hero.
Evo2 heroes gain even more stats and might than evo1 heroes.

Generally speaking, an evo1 hero at level 132 has roughly the
same damage as a 10* non-evo hero at level 180, and the 132e1
hero will have a lot more hp. So, make sure you will have enough
books on hand, or can sweep dungeons and HBM, to get your
hero back to level 132 quickly.

Now the big question... when should you evolve a hero?
(I'll talk specifically about evo1 here)
Should you do it as soon as it hits level 180 and becomes a
10-star hero?
Should you do it when it hits level 200?
Should you do it somewhere in between 180 and 200?

First of all, you don't ever need to level a hero to 200. A hero
at level 200 will give you 263 Blessed Tome II's. A hero at level
199 which has 9,085,501 experience (or more) will also get
263 books. Remember, hero exp is always rounded UP to the
next 500k. The only reason to level a hero to 200 is if you
WON'T evolve it for a long time, and want to take advantage
of the extra stats that level 200 gives over level 199.

If your hero has Enlighten, especially a higher-level
Enlighten (4 or 5), you should always level it up to
199 + 9,085,501exp then evolve.
You should primarily do this by sweeping dungeons and HBM
(where Enlighten is giving you its benefit). You can also use
books on it, just to get it to the target level sooner, but
Enlighten won't help you with experience from books. Once
you evolve this hero, it's recommended you keep sweeping
dungeons and HBM to level it back up. Then you can decide
if you want to evolve it again, or just stop and give it a
different talent. Ever since dungeon/HBM sweeping and
hero evolutions were introduced, Enlighten has become one
of the best talents. You're basically earning books at a huge
discount, and you can use those books on the same hero
or other heroes.

If you already have enough books on hand to get your
evolved hero back up to level 132, evolve it immediately.
There is no point in waiting. You will either keep feeding your
non-evo hero with dungeon/HBM sweeps and books, or you
could get a stronger hero sooner, and feed it the same
dungeon/HBM sweeps and books. Since hero exp is rounded
up, however, you should give your level 180 10-star hero
1 or more exp before evolving it, so that you at least will get
one 500k book.

If you don't have enough books on hand to get your evo
hero back up to level 132, then you should evolve it when
it's level 182.
Evolving at 182 gives you 18 Blessed Tome II's, which is
enough to level your evo1 hero back up to level 143.

One reason for evolving a hero later rather sooner,
is if you need to sell books to gain HB's. However, a
shortage of HB's can, and should, be solved by
boosting your might. See my post on this subject here:

Evolving a level 199 hero that has 9,085,501
experience gives you 263 books, the same as
evolving a level 200 hero.

Double-evolving a level 199 hero that has
9,063,001 experience gives you 217 books,
the same as double-evolving a level 200 hero.

I'll make this available to the guild...
It can be used to calculate how many
books you will receive when you
evo/devo a hero, and it will show you
how much experience to add to your
hero in order to receive one additional
book.

Please don't modify any cells except
the yellow boxes on the first sheet.
