Hello JS'ers,
Last Thursday's meetup was a lot of fun! Thanks again Micah and Brian for the brilliant presentations! You can follow them at @micahwedemeyer and @be_mann respectively.
For those who weren't there, at the beginning of the meetup we played a game in which everyone paired up into groups, and then within each group, one person taught something they knew to the other person. At the end, when asked "how many people learned something interesting or potentially useful?", there were a significant number of raised hands.
What this shows is that everyone knows something that is worthwhile to share with others. So we have to take further advantage of this. Next time, we shall have lightning talks before and after the main presentation. Perhaps we can call them "blitzes"? For all those who played teacher last time: clearly you had something valuable to teach, and all you have to do next time is to teach it to the rest of the group. For all those who played students or missed the meeting last time: now you shall have your chance!
All lightning talks will be strictly 5 minutes a piece. There will be a timer and a broom. We can probably fit up to 6 of them in the next meeting. Please email me at pre...@atlantajavascript.com if you are interested in doing one. I want *everyone* to email me! Do it!
Also! we want *you* to tell us what you want to happen in future meetups! Tell us at the forum.
Toby
