So since May 25th is Memorial Day, we'll have the may meeting 1 week later on June 1.  Also, huge thanks to Greg Houston and Shirley Hicks for planning and facilitating in April, respectively.  We've started work on a document to make it easier for volunteers to do each of those components without having a bunch of questions - I'll share it with the next few planners/facilitators privately before sharing it more publicly, so we can work out any kinks.

Anyway, do we have any volunteers for either role?  I'll be there for this meeting for sure and will gladly assist as much as I need to with both roles, but if we can get someone else at least saying "I'll badger Josh about this part" then that's progress towards making me less of a Single Point of Failure (and I think this past meeting was also a huge stride towards that.
  • Planners get together an agenda for the meeting, badger on the Mailing List and elsewhere to see if they can drum up talks, and then get that agenda over to me so I can make sure it gets on ye ol' Meetup group event description, ideally disseminated over social media, etc.
  • Facilitators run the show (basically make sure we follow some sort of agenda, are a last-resort at helping people get in the door, etc) and put out the call for the next month's volunteers.
Thanks in advance.  For what it's worth, I've got a more proper presentation together for the collaborative tetris thing (or can just show it off so we can play a group game of tetris!) that takes 40 minutes and involves zero live-coding (just gave that talk in Poland at ElixirConfEU), and Jamal Harris is interested in presenting if it works out with his schedule.

See you in June!  Volunteer at will!

-Josh

Josh - has anyone done a survey of wiki software and a presentation on one? I've been working with the Mediawiki framework (php-based) for a while now, and can put together a presentation on installation, known problems (some of the ones we've run into), templates and how to use extensions to develop a fuller set of features and to integrate it with other applications.

I had promised this a while back, but other stuff has kept me busy.

No one's ever done anything exhaustive on any wiki-related stuff.  Would love to see something on mediawiki.  It's one of those workhorses of the internet at this point :)
