So Tait Wayland from Code for Birmingham pinged me over a week ago and asked if BOSS wanted to get involved with Code for Birmingham a bit, but I've been busy and only just now got to it.
Here's the skinny. They're participating in the National Day of Civic Hacking. Turns out that's this weekend. They've got a venue and people, but are lacking projects to work on. They were hoping we could help out suggesting projects or showing projects we're currently working on that they could jump onto and help.
Anyway, I wanted to make sure to get this out to the group. I feel bad I didn't get around to Tait's email earlier. Also, should be a fun weekend (any weekend hacking is a fun weekend).
Tait's email address is taitrnator@gmail.com if you want to get involved. Let us know how it goes if you do.

Hey, I stumbled across you guys and I think there is quite a lot of potential to collaborate between our groups. I started Code for Birmingham several months ago, and its a brigade of the much larger organization, Code for America .

Anyhow one of the first things on our agenda to lift our feet off the group is to participate in the National Day of Civic Hacking.

We've got everything organized and a venue established, but were struggling to find projects to work on for both days of the event. If you guys have any projects you're working on we'd be glad to merge on them and make lots of progress if not finishing projects throughout the weekend. I think there is great potential for us to collaborate; we share very similar goals. We are essentially the same group with a civic-orientation.
Cheers,
Tait Wayland
