You have to go into Applications->internet->Gnome ppp and set the
username, password. Also provide the phone number as # 777 and check if
your device is mounted or else click on detect button for the system
to detect it automatically.

Live boot problem

I tried to boot my pc with Boss DVD ver.3 Live.

But it hangs in-between.

Perhaps any proper hardware-draver is not available in the pack.

My PC configuratation is

Mainboard : Asus M2A-VM HDMI with AMD 64 bit AM2 processor and Integrated Graphics
AMD 690G chipset, ATI Drivers
Benq T52WA 14.1" LCD monitor
IBM PS/2 Travel Keyboard with UltraNav (with touchpad)
TP-Link external ADSL Router TD8811

80 GB HDD, having 3 FAT32 partitions of 20 GB each and
one 20 GB unformatted partition kept for Boss linux

On Mainboard Box it is written as :

Socket AM2 AMD 690G, HT2000, Dual-Ch DDR2 900, PCIe
x16, HDMI, YPbPr TV-out, HD Audio, Gb LAN,
1394a, SATA3.0Gb, RAID, EZ Flash2, CrashFree BIOS
3.0.C Profile, Music Alarm, Vista Capable Candidate

Presently OS installed Win XP SP2 in C drive

Kindly Guide :
-- How to run the live CD properly.

next
-- How to install Boss Linux v3 in dual boot
-- How to configure hardwares
-- How to set ADSL model and internet
-- other problems and solve.

I have contacted Bosslinux users forum and Boss-Develpment team, but no response.

As I had already mentioned that your graphics card is not supported so
please use the following command to get the exact graphics card

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

this is a typical catch22 situation
to run dpkg-reconfigure you need boss(linux) to be running
to run boss(linux) you need graphics card to be supported

i think the details of the graphics card can be obtained
from within windowsXp thru some utility (not details of
the monitor but of the CARD/DisplayAdapter)

even then, the question will arise as to how to 'define'
the graphics adapter to boss(linux) at installation time

more :

hariramji's configuration --

" .... Integrated Graphics

AMD 690G chipset, ATI Drivers
Benq T52WA 14.1" LCD monitor...."

changing the Benq T52WA monitor and putting some
other 'simple standard' monitor is not going to help

if h/w solution needs to be an option, he will need
to disable the built-in video h/w of the motherboard
and insert a supported vga display card in a slot
of the mother board

Thanks for your guidance.

But, While 1st booting from the LIVE CD
how this is possible to give right Graphic Card driver command....?????

All the Driver CDs came with the Computer (Mainboard, graphic, monitor) etc. does not have any driver for Linux. All the Driver CDs have Microsoft certified driver files for Windows XP And Windows Vista.

This is the problem with popularisation of Linux, that proper drivers for the new hardwares not available/provided with the hardware parts.

And these drivers not bundled in the BOSS-Linux Live CD?
However better support is available for PCQuest Linux, Radhat, Ubantu, Suse Linux etc.
