Hello -
Some of you know that, in October, we sadly sent our wonderful borzoi
Zak (Avalon Midknight Zachary) on to Donna. Our house has been
painfully silent without him. After we lost our first Midknight
borzoi Nik in 1995, it was Donna herself that contacted us some months
later about her having new pups. I guess we had always hoped to count
on her and her perfect timing to know when the time was right for
bringing a new pup into our lives. That obviously can't be the case
any more.
My husband and I think that we are ready for a new pup. Since it
can't be from Donna, I'm hoping that it could be from someone that has
her dogs and/or that knew her and cared about her.
We will not want to show or breed the dog. And.....we are a bit picky
in that we would prefer a male and a not all-white/beige dog (we'd
like a "Midknight-colored dog"). We can promise the new guy a lot of
love, play and walks, a large fenced yard, snow in the winter and A/C
in the summer. We live in Boylston, MA (central MA). At present we
have no pets, but I volunteer with greyhound rescue and would like to
adopt a hound from there at some point (and this would be new
territory for me, having multiple dogs, so advice is welcome!).
Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.
On a more totally happy note, Kimberly Santini of Painting-a-Dog-a-Day
has just finished her paintings of Zak. I think it must be the first
borzoi that she has painted and they are really nice. If you want to
see them, one of these links should get you there:
