I was wondering how I would go about pinning Technic or Tekkit to my taskbar (Windows 7) I found a way to do it with default minecraft, and tried to use the same way in technic. I'm assuming it's probably not possible because of how the launcher works?

In the first section of the image, I have Technic opened the way you said, problem being, is that it is on my taskbar twice. Whereas, with MC, the way I have it launch is only on my taskbar once, which is the way I'd like to launch Technic or Tekkit bypassing the launcher essentially, kind of pointless to me, having to login every time I open it, it likes to crash and waiting 15+ seconds to launch isn't too bad if it happens once or twice, but it seems to be crashing every hour or so.

There are two icons because there are two programs, the launcher and technic itself. Doesn't happen with normal minecraft as there's no separation like that. You can't bypass the launcher. If it's crashing, go post on the bug board, maybe get that fixed.

Any Java program I've used that has a "launcher" which opens the actual program, even if the launcher has no visual representation, does that. Lemmini is one example I can think of; I have it pinned to my Taskbar, but when I open it, it opens a seperate icon on the taskbar.

I recently got a new computer and it has an Intel GPU built in and an Nvidia GPU. Regular Minecraft uses the Nvidia one without issue but I can't seem to figure out how to get Tekkit or Technic to use it. I tried telling the computer to use the GPU when running the technic launcher but that didn't work.

You need to tell it to always use the GPU when dealing with either Java in general, or do so for modpack.jar and minecraft.jar in the .techniclauncher folder. The launcher is only active for a moment, after that it just launches a special version of minecraft.

I started up technic, went into task manager and looked. It says technic was using Java.exe. I right clicked on it then clicked "Open file location" It brought me to the jre7 folder to the Java.exe file. I went into the GPU settings and told it to use the high performance GPU on Java.exe. It's still not using it for tekkit/technic.

C:\Users\----\AppData\Roaming\.technic\users.json because it does not exist.
[B#757] Unable to load installedPacks from
C:\Users\jakub\AppData\Roaming\.technic\installedPacks because it does not exist.

I've been trying to install technic for god knows how long now, but I keep getting the same problem. I've changed the location folder, I've tried the portable installation of the file instead of the standard one, I've updated and restarted my PC countless times, and none of the provided solutions are working for me. I'm getting the "Download of +Cyberbit.ttf Failed!" message every time in my logs, and I can't seem to install it manually I've moved around the .technic folder, I've uninstalled and reinstalled TechnicLauncher multiple times, and I'm very lost as to what's going wrong. No clue what anything in the logs mean exactly, but if they're necessary I'll post em here as well, just wasn't sure if the gigantic pile of code was needed in a bug report.

You're running a 32bit Java version on a 64bit Operating System. This will prevent you from allocating more than 1GB of ram to the Technic launcher. In order to update to Java 8 64-Bit, please follow these instructions: 1.) Close the Technic launcher. It should not be running! 2.) Open in your web browser 3.) Download the version that has 64-bit in it for you operating system. If you're using Windows download the one that says Windows Offline (64-Bit). 4.) After the download is complete. You must install it. You can do so by double clicking on the icon to run it. 5.) After it installs start up the Technic launcher again. 6.) Click on Launcher Options in the top right of the screen. 7.) Click on the tab called Java Settings 8.) Click on the dropdown called Minecraft Java Version and select the option that says 1.8_151 64-Bit. 9.) Click the dropdown called Memory and select an option that's between 2 GB and 4 GB. Do not select an option higher than 4 GB!

hi, i saw this and tried it out but it is still not working for me. I have a 64 bit system and i downloaded java for 64bit but it still doesnt seem to be picked up on the tekkit launcher. any ideas on as to why this is happening?

Ok so i searched up if technic launcher was safe seen a post on here and a few people said that it was safe aslong as you downloaded it from the site. Well ive had it before and somehow gave me a virus i deleted it didnt have it for 5 months. I downloaded it the 13th of november (2 days ago for me) and when i went to get off of regular and go to modded it crashed my whole computer so i deleted it from my computer, BUT that was after i downloaded Sim-U-Kraft and Thaumic Ascenscion on there.. However i downloaded it again yesterday and when i went to shut down my comp it was really slow, and after i downloaded it if i went to scroll on my screen itd glitch out and wouldnt let me as its happening today. I have no antivirus cause believe it or not those gave me virus... and it was avast and malwarebytes... So i got rid of those and havent had anything since. I searched up is technic safe to download for my kind of computer and it said that this one mod on there, tekkit, was a trojan virus and i used to have tekkit. Could anybody help after my long explanation?

I don't know why your computer slowed down after downloading technic, but I can confirm, that Technic Launcher itself is pretty slow sometimes (Like 5 minutes with nothing happening in the foreground).

In my computer settings is shows me that I have 32 GB of RAM and also it sais the same in the task manager but in the technic launcher I can only use a maximum of 16 GB of RAM to run my modpack and this way it is really laggy...

I tried to open the launcher on Windows 10, but it doesn't do anything. No pop-up, no message, no nothing. I tried troubleshooting the program, and it says the program is only compatible with Windows 8. Is this true, or is my computer just being stupid?
