Hmmm... Don't know. Does it show if the first field loses focus and
then regains it?
You might try explicitly setting focus to it in the onOpen event of
the form.

I tried, but it doesn't seems to work. What's happens is that when a form is
opened the first field that received focus don't shows its status message.
After leaving the field and returning to the same field, it's OK.
Strange... Maybe a bug in Visual dBASE 7.x ?

I played with this a little, trying to see if I could duplicate it and
find a work around. I can duplicate it and don't see a work around.
The interesting part is that I can see the status message displayed as
the form is opening and then it disappears. It may well be a bug.

These groups (here) are almost deserted now. You will find much more
information on the dbase2000 groups. The groups here will cease to
exist very soon.
