Hi

How can I deploy an db-application without the requirements of buying any
db-licenses ? Using the "Database Desktop" and the "SQL explorer" in
Delphi, I can create any "odbc" database, but does this require any licenses
when deploying ?

I have read the Deploy.txt file, but it doesn't tell exactly !

Hope someone can give me an answer

Best regards

If a particular database back-end requires special licensing for multiple
users (or even single users), you must have those licenses for a deployed
application to be able to access the database. This is true no matter what
software was used to write the application: Delphi, dBASE, Visual Basic, or
VC. There is nothing in these application programming tools that negate the
need for the database licenses.

No, the DEPLOY.TXT file will not tell you what specific licensing you need
for database system ABC or XYZ -- they are not Borland products. Specific
database licensing requirements are described in the documentation that
comes from the vendor for the particular database software.
