HELP !!
In BPMN diagrams, Together does not appear to allow the reorientation
of Pools and Lanes from horizontal to vertical ...any tips on this
would be welcomed.

Diagram menu --> preferences --> view management --> "Default activity
partition orientation"
mind that in the view management, you can also go to "Configure
Workspace settings", where you can set orientation to vertical for the
entire workspace, not only for the current diagram

Your procedure is correct for a project which has a UML profile but
the option does not work for projects which have a BPMN profile.
Borland tell me that this has been noted as an enhancement request for
a future release.
