The Together for JBuilderX seems to go fine, then at the end, it informs me that there were errors and to check the installation.log. I followed some other threads here, and tried debug mode as well. Nothing. No installation.log is created anywhere, and debug mode shows lots of output, but no errors. JBuilderX runs fine afterwards, but contains no Together or modelling menuitems or other objects.

Any help would be appreciated. This is somewhat urgent.

I think you have to explicitly enable the Together modelling
"Personality" to get the Together menu's, etc, to show up. Project |
Project Properties | Personality. If it is unclear from there, click
the Help button.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, when I go into the Personality dialog section, there is not Together Modelling entry to enable. Anything else you can think of? I'm willing to try anything to get this working.

Well, then I think we are back to "installation error". Borland does
provide installation support. You should check out here and call for help:

what JBuilder edition do you have - Developer or Enterprise? What Tg build
have you installed? Do you get any messages/errors in JBuilder console on
starting it ( for starting it with console use JBuilder.exe, not
JBuilderW.exe )?

Another support person informed me that JBuilderX Enterprise doesn't seem to work with the Together Edition for JBuilderX, it is for Developer edition only? So now I've downloaded JBuilderX Developer and the trial activator key. However the key sent is for JBuilder 2005 and won't allow me to run Developer edition X, and the download site won't send me another! This is far more hassle than I'd intended a simple eval to be. I'm not impressed in the least.

it's not true - there are Tg editions for JBuilderX Enterprise and for
JBuilderX Developer.
You just need to make sure that you have chosen the right one... Together
for JBX Enterprise (AKA Imperial, builds 3488 (RTM En), 3606 (RTM JA), and
3616 (RTM FR)) is intended to be used with JBuilder X Enterprise. There is a
special edition for JBuilderX Developer - Cruising, b.3658v11, released on
12-May-2004

Well, you guys and the e-mail support people should get together and have a meeting or something. I gave up on it anyway. I'll go back to using what I was previously.
