Hi all,

Evaluating the Together Architect and I'm trying to work thru the UML tutorial. After adding the Web Service and SOAP Port objects, the tutorial asks to add Extension links to the various elements. However, when I click on the Extension link and try to "draw" a link between them I get nothing. I can't add an Extension link or do anything. In addition, the cursor has a small icon attribute that looks like a Do Not Enter sign (circle with a line thru it). I'm assuming this means it's locked out from doing this function.

Any idea on how I can add an extension link? Am I suppose to hold down a special key on the keyboard or something?

thx in advance,

adym

what element are you trying to draw extension link to? It can only be drawn
between a stereotype (element with <<stereotype>> stereotype created using
Stereotype toolbar button) and a metaclass from metamodels root.
So, you need to add uml20::components::Component as shortcut to diagram, and
draw extension link from "Web Service" stereotype to
uml20::components::Component . This works fine to me.

Check.

It is a sterotype element and a Component. The component indicates a metaclass element, so everything looks like it matches.

Do you think it might be the fact that I have a trial version? The tutorial doesn't really mention whether you need a full license or a trial version.

thx in advance,

no, trial version shouldn't be an issue. I'd suggest sending the problem
description (including the project and screenshots) to support. Or, send
them to me :)
