Missing folder and child files

Good evening, I'm new to this group. We're using Star Team since 2005
to tell the truth, but We still can't understand some of ST behaviour.

One of our problems is that, if a directory isn't checked out (i.e. It
doesn't exist on client's host) also all files below it are not shown
as "missing"...They simple aren't shown

It seems impossible to us not to have a mechanism to manage folders
'recursively' so that every missing directory is shown , not only
files.

Has anyone found a similar obstacle yet ? How did you solve It ?
