On January 1st 2005, PGD ( http://www.pgd.netstarweb.com/ ) launched
it's inaugural competition. The theme was "Dog Fight" but rather than
force entrants to adhere to the traditional idea of 2 plane combatants,
we extended this to allow any 2 fighting entities from bacteria to solar
systems, as long as the fighting was intense. The other main
stipulations were that the main code for the game had to be written in
Pascal and that it had to be Open Source, so that others could learn
from the code.

On March 15th the competition was deemed closed and what you see below
are the impressive entries of those amazing teams and individuals who
decided to take part.

The entries were judged on the following criteria and were awarded a
points score between 1-10 in the following 5 categories with a maximum
of 50 possible points.
a ) GamePlay - How fun is the game?
b ) Usability - How easy is it to pick up and is it challenging enough?
c ) Quality - How polished is the game?
d ) Originality - How original an idea is it?
e ) Wow Factor - What makes it stand out, ( jaw dropping visuals,
attention to detail )?
