Hi all,

as I saw (read) in the past, Kylix does not run with new(er) Linux Versions
without making trouble.

As I still have a Kylix 3 Enterprise which I would like to use, here are my
questions:

1) Which is the last Suse Linux where Kylix 3 runs "out of the box", i.e.
without any additional patches etc.?

2) Which is the last Suse Version where Kylix 3 runs with an "affordable"
effort, i.e. install patches etc. but not spend too much time with this + as
I am not a Linux expert, so it shouldn't be too "hardcore" ;-)

3) Finally, which is the last Suse Kylix 3 is know to run under?

Thx,
Levend.

Hi

It depends what part of Kylix you use :
- For the Delphi part, i think you can go to the last version with all the
patches
- For the C++ part, i stop at 9.1 with the patch

Kylix is now dead. Better is probably to search other product ....

Regards,
Lionel

Afair it was running quite "out of the box" with SuSE 9.0.

Hi Mr. Sener.

We have same problem with you.
Did you solve your problem?
If you solved your problem, could you tell me which Suse version do you
have?

Thanks a lot.

I have been using Kylix 3 Professional on Suse10.0 with very little
difficulty, after installing the theo patches described on his website. I
strongly recommend this configuration. In fact, after going through the
effort to convert my applications to CLX, I am actually doing all of my
development now on the Kylix side! Feel free to contact me if you have
questions, victorhelsing/yahoo com.
