I guess since Borland has given up on its dbSwing/dx users, it is time to
look for a better solution.

If you want an answer from Borland/CodeGear, then don't post in the
newsgroups. These are a peer-support area only.

Call/contact CodeGear support if you want official help.

We had the same problems too, but we build our "own" dbswing library
with many bug fixes and add-ons:
- Java 6 compatible
- Date-display/edit Problem (simple fix: set a formatter to the
column-object!)
- Lookup-Cache
- Userdefined sorting Columns
- Master-Detail-Lookup fix (there are known problems if you use a detail
dataset for a lookup-field, when lookup and master field is in the
same table)
- ditto-row-copy-function including detail-datasets
- many visuell fixes
- jdbtable enhancements (multi-line selection, optimized and faster updates)

We used the dbswing sourcecode delivered with JBuilder 2005 Developer
(yes, 2005 !!)

We do not distribute the modified dbswing source code. If you want it,
you have to ask codegear first.

In germany it is legal to patch a product to fix problems if the
producer does not fix it.

We also made our "own" JBuilder 2006 JDK 6 Edition...Look here:

You could talk to CodeGear and see about posting it in CodeCentral
(http://cc.codegear.com), if you really wanted to make it available.

It would undoubtedly be a popular download.

That was an excellent! posting, but it would have been seen by more
people as an article on the CodeGear Developer Network
(http://dn.codegear.com). They pay people for articles for the
Developer Network.
