I've got the following scenario:
A client start a r/w transaction (read committed) and while this
transaction is running the client crashes. Within the transaction a
lot of inserts are processed.
After this I used the performance monitor: the OIT got stuck, the
attachment ist still active, the statement finishes after some time
and the transaction keeps active all the time!
So no sweep helps, and even updating the system tables (TMP
$ATTACHMENTS, TMP$TRANSACTIONS) doesn't do anything. I can update it,
no error, but nothing happens...
The only way I've is to backup/restore the whole database. Maybe
someone has an idea how to "recover" from that state without the need
to backup/restore everything. Writing to the system table to commit
the transaction or cancel the attachment could be the solution I
thought... but seems it's not possible?!
Thanks for any information
