IB6 uninstall on Fedora 4

I'm a newcomer to linux.
After we've installed IB6 on linux (using RPM), and testing it with perfect
results, we need to turn to last version of Firebird, due to its better
functionality.
We are not able to uninstall IB6... or (better) after a (supposed)
uninstallation, the FB rpm installer doesn't install beacause some
"incompatibility" with IB6 package.. (even though IB should be uninstalled).
I'm afraid that my inexperience is the real problem, so the question #1 is:
What is the right way to uninstall IB6 and everything it put on a Fedora4
machine?
