Can classic IB solve this problem?

Hi,

lately i have this problem: interbase.log has a lot of 'I/O error writing to
a certain.gdb, invalid argument', and the log file grows to several G, and
finally the ib server crashed, when it crashed all the other applications
stop running. now i am switching the ib server to classic version, can this
solve the problem? i tried to run the classic ib for sometime and noticed
there is no entry in the interbase.log, does IB classic use interbase.log?
