InterServer Refusing Connections

I'm running InterServer 2 and InterBase 6 on a Pentium 4 2.8GHz with 1GB of
RAM. It seems that under moderate load InterServer stops allowing
connections. I'm running Windows XP and the TCP performance monitor says
that once my TCP connections reach around 50 it starts to get dicey. I'm
not sure how many of those are connections to InterServer, but it equates to
roughly 10 concurrent users, each with 2 connections: one to a unique
database and one to a global database. What could be the cause of this?
How can I tell how many current connections there are to InterServer? When
our client JDBC application fails to login, we are still able to get in with
IBConsole.

Ideas or comments appreciated.

InterServer has a memory leak which occurs if you do many statements.
I'm wondering is the cause here. Look to see how much memory is
allocated for InterServer and if it growing.

It is worth noting we no longer officially support InterBase 6 or
InterServer any longer. InterBase 7 has a new type 4 driver and I
suspect your problem will not occur there as there is no InterServer
with it.
