Hi,

I had a simple system that uses firebird interclient to comunicate
with a interbase 6.0 database. The system was working well, and
suddenly, it stop. Checking the problem I evidenced that the interclient
did not initiate ("The service cannot be started" message was shown) .

So, when I try to re-install the intercliente I get an error: the system
says
that I have not permissions to install
it as service. Still thus the service is shown in the list of
installed services and when I try to start it other error is shown
saying "The service cannot be started".

I'm trying to re-install the interclient with the administrator user. I have
permissions
about the involved directorys. I already try exhaustingly very solutions,
but nothing decide my
problem. The interesting is the service was working well, and,
suddenly, it stop.

The list of things that I already tryed:
- Add the line "interserver 3060/tcp # Interserver" to the
"services" file.
- Reinstall all (JDK, Interbase database, interclient)
- Check CLASSPATH enviroment variable and add the interclient.jar file path
to that.
- Stop all other services, to detect some conflict.
- Clear the registry.

The interclient version is 2.01. I'm in Windows 2000 Server. JDK 1.3.1.
Please help-me.

Thanks

Arivan

AFAIK InterClient has always been a Borland product and I believe
InterClient is a Borland trademark. If what you are using is really a
non-Borland product then this is the wrong newsgroup to ask questions
about it.
