Hi everyone.

We recently upgraded from IB 6 to IB 7.1. I'm in the process of
migrating our apps over to the new IB 7.1 server.

I have the interclient.jar file for IB 7.1 and can't connect to the
server. Previously on IB 6.0 I had to install InterServer which
listened on port 3060.

Do I have to install InterServer for IB 7.1 also? Does anyone know where
that is if I do? If 7.1 does not require InterServer, what port does it
listen on?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Multi-posted; answered elsewhere. Please don't multi-post.

No. IB 7+ uses a new, pure Java, type 4 driver which doesn't require a
server and communicates on port 3050.

However, I do recommend using IB 7.5.1 SP 1 as there have been several
JDBC driver bugs fixed since 7.1.
