I recently bought some Avery brand CD-ROM labels for my inkjet printer
from Staples, then downloaded the indicated CD label printing software
from the Avery web site. After installation, I realized the software
was only a demo limited to 10 uses, so I uninstalled it. The uninstall
program then displayed the files it was uninstalling and, to my horror,
I saw BDE filenames flashing by.

But I can access Paradox tables OK. But I can't access any Interbase
databases (local or remote). Database Desktop, Database Explorer, and
Paradox all generate the error message below. I've already uninstalled
and reinstalled Interbase, Delphi 5, and Paradox 8. Any ideas or tips
(other than avoid Avery software in the future)?

Cannot load an IDAPI service library

It sounds like the InterBase driver DLL is missing. Try backing up your BDE
configurartion file then removing the BDE by deleting its directory. The
delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Borland\Database Engine key from the
registry. After that reinstall the BDE from the Delphi CD.
