I have developed an application that uses the unlimited licensed Interbase
Server (7.1). I would like to have this hosted but am having a nightmare
time trying to locate a host service that handles interbase. I tried a
google search using interbase in the search condition and despite seeing
heaps of potential host services, none appear to handle interbase.
I love interbase and since I have spent about 18 months designing and
developing the application, I am fairly unimpressed at the idea of porting
the entire thing over to say mySQL or ACCESS. They are just not up to
scratch and anything microsoft will cost a fortune.
Does anyone know of a host service that handles interbase? How has your
experience with the service been. I need really fast access (from a user
perspective), 24/7 access and my own mail server (ODDPOST from
www.deerfield.com).
This is just a total nightmare for me. I can develop software OK but my
ignorance on web applications is major - no point pretending knowledge I
just don't have.
Any and all help very gratefully appreciated.
Kindest regards,

By the way, not to put down your email server, but I am very happy with
mine which is Mdaemon by www.altn.com. They used to be deerfield's mail
server but have since gone out on their own.
Good Luck,
Daniel

I haven't used them personally, but I've heard many good things about
defined.net.

I use defined.net and like it--they do an excellent job with up time et al.
Havent' ever done any large/high volumn data though--currently less then 10k
records in all tables.

Hi! Thanks for the kind words! Just in the interest of clarity
MDaemon was never Deerfield's mail server (although the way it was
marketed for a while was somewhat confusing in this respect).
Basically we contracted our e-tailing and support workload to
Deerfield for a while so we could concentrate on product development.
We have sense elected to bring these areas of our operation back
in-house (as they were before we hired Deerfield).
