Scenario - I would like to create a set of diagrams for a specific client. The purpose is to focus the client to capture information in diagrams that is specific to the client's process and to use terminology that they understand. (Focus on the information being captured and minimize the need to become expert modelers. The intent is to use profiles and model audits to ensure the client conforms to their own standards. The profile being created is based on the uml 2.0 metamodels in TA 2006.

Issues:

1. How do you create connectors (e.g. directed arrows between stereotyped objects that extend a metaclass. collaboration object and part, or actor.

2. How can you change or override characteristics of a given metaclass (i.e. being able to place a (data store object) on a diagram pallet?

3. Does anyone have an example of an svg file that has shapes in it that work in the viewmap dialog for a new stereotype object?

4. Does anyone have examples - not SOA - of successful, complex profiles that have been created in TA 2006

1. not sure I've got what you mean... Would you like to associate certain
stereotyped element with another? What about using associations? They would
allow creating properties (tagged values) of associated type 0- see Help.
2. again, don't understand what you meant to say. You can't override
metaclass characteristics, but you can add specific tagged values to
stereotype that extends certain metaclass, and assign a viewmapping to it.
You can also set some OCL constraints to it if you like to put some
restrictions on its behavior.
3. I'll email some examples to you. Do you have problems with your images?

4. I do have some examples received from users, but we aren't permitted to
send these to anyone.

Best,
Lena
