Hello,

This may seem to be a stupid question but after looking on the borland web
site I have no answer to my question.

We have a licence of Together Designer 2005 because we're developping with
Delphi win32 and we're not interested in generating code.

Now I see that there are two versions of Designer : a Designer 2006 Eclipse
(java) and a Designer 2006 for VS.NET.

Can someone tell me if a Designer 2006 "short" ? Because currently we only
want to use Together as a modeling tool with no interaction with java or
VS.NET code.

Thanks.

Both Designers are the tools for pure, language independent modeling. They are different by the shell they run in (i.e. Eclipse or Visual Studio), the languages in which they can generate source code (Eclipse - Java, VS - C# and Visual Basic), and by the set of minor features. The core features are the same.

If you are using Together Designer 2005, Together Designer 2006 for Eclipse will likely be a suitable upgrade path for you. However, you can also obtain the Visual Studio edition under the same support contract. You may download a trial and/or contact tech support if you are interested.

As concerns to Together Designer 2006 for Eclipse, do not be confused with the "for Eclipse" prefix. You will not be required to download and install Eclipse separately, Together includes everything it needs.
