Hi,

Before the "SMP Server" we used to buy a server license and some other
"users upgrades" to increase licensed users.
So if we wanted to install 20 users we bought:
a Server license
and a 20 users license

Now, with a new customer with 20 users we thought to have to buy:
a Server license
a 10 users license
a 10 users license

We did it, but we received:
a Server license (Interbase 2007 SMP Server Edition and 1 user upgrade)
a Server + 10 users license (Interbase 2007 SMP Server Edition and 10
simultaneus uses upgrade)
a Server + 10 users license (Interbase 2007 SMP Server Edition and 10
simultaneus uses upgrade)

Now, after we registered them, we discovered that the last one overlapped
the previuos and the day after all licenses were deactivated so we had to
reinstall the server with only one license active.

We think it's because of the fact they are all server editions and thus
mutually exclusive.

Maybe our supplier made a mistake, but he says that it's all right and it
should work.

Is there any simple "10 simultaneus uses upgrade" license?
Is the licensing policy changed?
Did we stumble in a bug?

All I know is that I have a customer that works with only 10 users from last
Friday and no one from my supplier to CodeGear gave me any explanation of
this behaviour.

Thank you in advance.

Yes, the 10 simultaneous users license still exists. Your reseller
definitely sold you the wrong thing here. The SMP Server licenses are
not stackable. You have two choices here that I see:

1. Return SMP Server license with 1 User and SMP Server with 10 users,
then purchase 10 simultaneous users license.

2. Return everything, purchase SMP Server with 25 users.

Make sure you initiate the return process within 10 days of purchase.
Within 10 days there should be no problem accommodating your request.
After that it's harder. Your reseller may tell you we don't accept
returns, which is our official policy. Have the reseller contact their
sales contact. Their sales contact should be able process the return.

BTW, your reseller ended up contacting my boss. I told my boss to
redirect your reseller to his sales contact for returns, but my boss
also provided your reseller some SKU id's.

Ok,

so my reseller is wrong and the next time I'll order a Server licenze and
some "XX simultaneous users license" (without server).
The only difference is that "20 simultaneous users license" has been
dropped.
Is it true?

Thank you in advance.

I send to my reseller the screenshot of the license manager and now I've
been waiting for the solution since wednesday.
My customer has been waiting for the solution since may 24th.

I know this issue has been being worked on this week. Your point of
contact is your reseller. If you not happy with progress you should
start there and see what is happening at the reseller side.
