Hello all.

I have downloaded RAD Studio ISO from CodeGear site and installed
everything. But it wont show the help when I press F1 key or select it from
menu Help -> CodeGear Help. All I see is message of help system "No page to
display" and "ms-help://borland.bds5/bds5start/intro.html" in the URL edit
line.

Hi Ender,

Fortunately, the help is also available in a separate installation, so
download the Feb 08 Help update and run that install to see if that
fixes things...

But first you should check out the C:\Program Files\CodeGear\RAD
Studio\5.0\Help directory, and especially the Doc directory with the
H2Reg.exe executable. If you run

H2Reg -r

then this should re-register the helpfile again (which should then cause
RAD Studio to display the "Help Udpate in Progress" dialog when you
first press F1 again).

I looked in the abovementioned directory. The directory "Help" contain only
one subdirectory "Win32". The contents of this directory below:

C:\Program Files\CodeGear\RAD Studio\5.0\Help\Win32>dir
Volume in drive C has no label.
Volume Serial Number is 5C3A-2FD3

Directory of C:\Program Files\CodeGear\RAD Studio\5.0\Help\Win32

I tried to download Help files update but it accessible only to registered
users. It is possible that help was not installed because of trial version
of RAD studio?

I can't help you with that, but, until someone comes by with a
better suggestion, you can download the latest help files in
either .chm or .htm format from CodeCentral without being a
registered user.

If you downloaded the ISO in the last week or so, you should have the
latest Help setup on that ISO.

The Help setup should have run after installing the main product, but
sounds like it may not have run in your case. The help will install
fine on a Trial, so that isn't the problem.

The setup is called Help_Setup.exe in the install folder on the ISO.

If you already have a version of RADStudio Help (check Add/Remove
programs), then run Help_Setup.exe /upgrade.

If you don't have RADStudio Help installed, then just run
Help_Setup.exe.
