This may be the wrong group - so ppoint me please!
D2007. Are the child windows in a MDI in seperate threads? That is should
two Childre of the same class be able to operate independently and how
exactly do they interface with the Main Thread - or do they become the main
thread when they have focus?

All windows, MDI or otherwise, run in the main thread. This is the way
windows works. If you want multi-threading then you need to create
your own thread for each form and have it update the UI using the
Threads Synchronize method or some other means.
