Hi!

I found out there should be something name SPTI (SCSI pass through)
that enables comunication with SCSI devices. I searched the internet,
but I could not get any information.

Has anyone a sample of this works or at least constant definitions?

Thank you, Mitja!

How about ASPI - Advanced SCSI Programming Interface. Check out
www.adaptec.com. You'll have to wander around -- I don' remember the exact
URL.

I already tried using it, but it seems that some functions cannot be
performed under WinNT (they work perfectly under Win98). So I was
trying to avoid that problems.

If You need to access SCSI devices, You need the ASPI SDK. The
Delphi headers and all information is available at www.torry.ru, search
under components/System.
If You need to use DeviceIOControl... well, just hope that You
don't, but still search in MSDN, under Knowlege Bas/Platform SDK/Win95
features/Win95 reference.

I already tried using ASPI, but it does not work well under NT.
Requesting sense mode does not work on my Philips CDRW under NT, while
it works fine under Win98. So I thought there is an alternative which
I could use (I heard something about SPTI) and that does not need
Adaptec ASPI Layer which cannot be obtained seperately for installing
(under WinNT).

Thanks for the tip about samples, some are very good!

Hi Perko,

Are you saying the Adaptec ASPI layer can't be installed under NT? Because I
just
download Adaptec ASPI which will work under NT (for my scanner), as well win
9x.

No I only said that it does not work well under NT. Now I think that
maybe VIA IDE driver has something to do with it.
