New icon for custom components; Hiding inherited property

Dear members,

I have some questions:

1. I have built some custom components by myself. And when I install these
components, they all maintain the icons of the ancestor components, it is
pretty difficult to see on the component palette which is which. How can I
change
these icons?

2. Is it possible to suppress a published property in the inherited
component. For example:

TMyEdit = Class(TEdit)
.
.

And I wish to hide the property Color from the Object Inspector. How do I do
this?
