I am using Delphi/Turbo pascal since 1986 but now I have to write VCLs
including the installation in the IDE, which I have never done before.
What's the best (most thorough) source of information about how to write
VCLs and their interaction with the D2007 IDE?

Ray Konopkas "Developing Custom Delphi Components" is still the gold

I can't find any reference to Konopkas ebook on that site. Has it
disappeared?

The eBook is listed in the "Ordering Information" section.

Some things have canged since:
The library keys to set go to ..\BDS\5.0\Known Packages for Win32 and
..\BDS\5.0\Known Assemblies for Vcl .net

The online help uses Help2 format which is some pain to install. I use
H2Reg.exe (http://www.helpware.net) for this purpose.
