This update includes the following updates and fixes:
1) Fixed an issue with the new "manual Proxy" implementation in WinInet and
WinHTTP connection providers where wrong proxy settings could have resulted
in an endless loop on the client by trying to re-post a request unlimited
number of times.
2) Updated WinInet and WinHTTP connection providers behavior to NOT
automatically process redirect requests from a webserver, but instead give
you the option to decide what you want to do.
3) Updated the WinSock Server connection component so that the CryptPlugin
can be set or removed before every call to the Listen method. In prior
implementations, the CryptPlugin could only have been set (or left blank)
once before the first call to "Listen".
4) Fixed an exploit bug in the RTC Forum Demo.
5) Fixed handling of responses without a content body (Status Code = 1xx,
204 or 304).
On a side-note ...
Because it always costs me half an hour to an hour to make a new update
available in form of a ZIP file on SourceForge, this will be the last RTC
SDK update released through SourceForge. For all future RealThinClient SDK
updates, please use the "RTC Download Area" on our Support Forums, where you
will always be able to find the latest RealThinClient SDK release:
http://www.realthinclient.com/forum
Also, to stop annoying people who are not interested in the RealThinClient
SDK but frequently monitor Borland ThirdParty newsgroups, this will be the
last announcement about the RealThinClient SDK Open Source edition on
Borland ThirdParty Newsgroups. For all future news about the RealThinClient
SDK Open Source edition, please check the RTC Support Forums or visit the
RealThinClient SDK Open Source Newsgroups at:

Danijel,
I would rather that you continued to make brief announcements of any
changes here - as I do not wish to have to monitor the other forums
continuously. One message, say once a month only when there are changes,
should not upset anyone.
Do you have an RSS feed for such announcements?
Cheers,
David
Ok, I was not being entirely honest, as there was a hiddnen message ;-)
Another reason why I want to make annoucements about the Open Source RTC SDK
edition only on RTC SDK Open Source Newsgroups (and RTC Forums) is to get
people who are using the Open Source version of the components to monitor
the Newsgroups. Now, it seems like nobody is watching the Open Source
newsgroups because I am making all announcements here.
I know that making announcements here keeps things simple for developers who
are using the RTC SDK, but if we can not get those who are actively using
the components to monitor the Open Source Newsgroups (or Forums), I am
affraid that the Open Source Newsgroups will be useless.
> Do you have an RSS feed for such announcements?
Sorry, I do not have a RSS feed.
Best Regards,
Danijel Tkalcec
Danijel, "news.realthinclient.org" isn't working for me. I use
Thunderbird.
Is the news server down?

(In order to reply per e-mail, please just remove the ".net"
from my e-mail address. Leave the rest of the address intact
including the "antispam" part. I had to take this measure to
counteract unsollicited mail.)
The Server is in the US and is working for me.
Maybe there is a problem in DNS resolution.
What IP address do you get when you ping news.realthinclient.org?
It should be 66.240.254.60

Danijel,
This is probably the most important Delphi 3rd Party Tools newsgroup
around. The RTC SDK is a 3rd party product for Delphi with a decent
sized user base. Please do not stop posting product release/update
announcements here.
People that do not wish to read them can skip over them, as I do for
topics that don't interest me.

I have no problem monitoring NNTP groups, but wish to avoid web forums
as much as possible.
The problem at the moment is that your NNTP server appears to be down.

Agreed.
I don't find your announcements (or discussions) here annoying.
Hmm ... from here, it looks like the Server is up and running and I see
there is a new post there. Could the problem be in DNS? Can you please check
what IP address you get when you try to ping "news.realthinclient.org"?
Thank you.

Point taken.

It's also working for me here in Sunnyvale, CA, USA.

The problem is a typo by me. Oops.. ;-)
It is working fine from Canada.

This type of message hurt you company even is a joke (;-), is a truth
or both.

Having a pear to pear forum is great, but need exposure, here is a great
place to you promote your forum. To motivate people to used include some
article or other aditional value ( direct support is not necesary, but
other stuff yes, like posting open source updates )
Or
Anounce here and pleace more details there.

You are a great programer but you have little patience, making you prone
to make mistakes. Please don't make abrupt anoucement. To obtain the gool
you have yo need to present them in smaller steps, emphasizing the
benefits and hinding any contradicion when shift in strategy is needed
( the correct way to hide a contradition is making it less painfull to
the clients)
Note : discontinue SourceForge update can send a erroneus message, so
place a note SourceForge indicating where find the recent update or the
updated source code.
best regards,
Dennis Ortiz
Thanks for the update.
I was getting worried I'd have to switch to another Server ... again ;-)

Yeah, I know. I am bad. Spank me! ;-)

Making a post here-and-there to show potential users that the project is
still alive is not a bad idea. I guess that a monthly (or a bit-monthly)
announcement about our progress posted to Borland Newsgroups might do the
trick.

I know. I've already made a post on SourceForge with a link to the RTC
Forums where the latest version of the RTC SDK can be downloaded.

Danijel Tkalcec
Well, well. I wasn't aware you were into that.
Programmers are an interesting lot.

With that address I can connect, but it times out all the time.
I have now moved the NNTP Server to the Server PC which is also used as
our main Web and E-Mail Server. The URL news://news.realthinclient.org
should now be pointing to the new location (IP 85.214.17.219).
Should the above URL not work for you, please try
news://realthinclient.org or news://realthinclient.com
