DDevExtensions 1.5 add the following new features to the IDE
* Adds ComponentSelector to Delphi/BCB 5, 6 and 7, what speeds
up the search for a component
* Adds Project Configurations for Delphi, BCB and the Delphi
personalities of BDS. (Superseeded by RAD Studio 2007)
* Adds a dialog to set the versioninfo for multiple projects in a
projectgroup
* Adds a backup system that creates backups of unsaved files
when you compile or execute a project.
* Adds an improved View Units, View Forms and Use Units dialog
* Adds an extended "Use Units" dialog for the Delphi personalities
showing all files that the compiler can see
* Adds a progressbar to the compile dialog
* Adds the close automatically after successfull compile checkbox
for Delphi/BCB 5, 6 and 7
* Adds keybinding for extended HOME and indent/unindent
TAB/Shift-TAB
* Adds the ability to temporary disable the VCL designer guidelines
by pressing the ALT key
* Adds Explicit* property remover (Delphi 2006 and newer).
* Fixes BDS bugs: ALT+F12 and editor looses focus
* Allows to delete .ddp files, empty Model and empty __history
directories.
* Can disable the Source modified. Rebuild? dialog
* Brings back the old component palette to Delphi 2005, BDS 2006
and RAD Studio 2007
DelphiSpeedUp 2.75
This IDE plugin not only speeds up the IDE startup time it also makes
the whole IDE to work faster.
RtlVclOptimize 2.75
The unit contains all the non IDE specific optimizations (without the
FastCode units).
DFMCheck 1.2
I mentioned this tool in 2006 the first time but there was never an
official release. DFMCheck compares the DFM object structure with the
one in the form/frame/datamodule class by generating a special unit
that the compiler can read. This tool has proved to be very helpfull if
you use frames and visual inheritance a lot.
Changelog:
DDevExtension 1.5
* Fixed: Keybinding options were not saved.
* Fixed: TAB Key sometimes stopped working.
* Added: Extended "Use Unit..." dialog.
* Added: "Find Unit-File..." dialog in the search menu (Delphi and
Delphi.NET only).
* Added: Explicit* property remover (Delphi 2006 and newer)
* Added: Start Parameter Team: Start parameters are not saved to
the dof/dproj project file.
* Added: Single line tab-indention is now optional and disabled by
default.
DelphiSpeedUp 2.75
* Added: Fix for TCustomActionList.Notification memory overwrite
(also in IDEFixPack for RAD Studio 2007; not fixed for Delphi 5)
* Added: No delay after switching from Text DFM to the form designer
(Delphi 2006, RAD Studio 2007)
* Fixed: FastQuit (Ctrl+Quit) ignored the "Cancel" button in the "Do you
want to save?" dialog
RtlVclOptimize 2.75
This version is only of interest for people who use the WideString
cache which is disabled by default.
* Updated: Windows Vista doesn't need the WideString cache anymore
* Fixed: Memory leak in WideString cache

<q>
"Open/Close all forms":
Opens all forms one by one to keep GDI Handle usage low.
With this function you can find missing properties and
events. But it will take some time for large projects.
</q>
Altough not mentioned in your previous post, this one is handy as well!
Thanks!

Seriously, Andreas, why CG hasn't hired you yet? Are you that
expensive? Or you just don't want to work for CG /even remotely/?
Could you please respond?
Thanks,
GC

Googling... Ah found it!
Just out of curiosity is http://andy.jgknet.de/ supposed to return a
blank page? (tried it on Firefox, IE7 and Opera).

Yes it is.

Hi.
It seems that the optimization mentioned above fixes QC #55226. Can anyone
confirm this?

Eike Petersen
P.S.:
Andreas, you are a wizard! Codegear should provide you with free IDEs for the
rest of your life...

It might be because he is happy where he is working now.

Forgive my poor English that I don't know what words else I can use to
express myself other than "excellent job", "well done"...
Similar to Gordos is asking for why CG did not hire you already, I wonder if
you will post your photo on your blog so that I can see how a "wizard" like
you looks like :) Just out of curiosity

Well, I hope Nick will not see this post, or if he take my advise I'll think
I am evil and can't forgive myself...

I doubt that's it, since I am pretty certain Nick (and CG in general)
considers Andreas a valuable member of the Delphi community.
My guess is still that Andreas is happy in his current job.

Sorry for my poor English, I did not post my previous message very
seriously, It's just for fun :-) It's impossible that Nick has not realized
this since he seems to be pretty active in the newsgroup (how is it compared
to the former DELPHI product manager?)

My initial thoughts were the same but in hindsite, I think that Andreas
can accomplish far more from outside of CG then within it. Inside CG, he
would just become another member of the team. From outside, he release
fixes and updates without the overhead associated with a large
corporation. It would not be the end of the world if one of his patches
broke something in Delphi. Should the same occur in a CG release, their
would be an outcry.
The best I think we can hope for is that CG silently provide him with any
assistance that he needs.

What makes you think they did not do that already <g>

I didn't mean Andreas to become a regular programmer. CG should hire
him as a freelancer and give him one task: do whatever you want to do
to make Delphi a better product!

I have D7 and altought delphi speedup gives me very fast startup, closing of
D7 is very very slow...

Thanks Nick. I'm not gonna ask for details as I know you won't reveal
them. So I'll just ask: is there a chance that some of Andreas'
extensions will become part of Delphi IDE?

I'll say at this point we are more interested in stability and
performance. How's that? ;-)

This would include some of Andreas' fixes/enhancements, too ;-)

or your own. Either way. ;-)
Nice work.
Could you please add CTRL+/ and SHIFT+CTRL+/ to comment/uncomment a code
block? Just like Eclipse. Many thanks
