Does anyone from EldoS hang around here ? I sent a message to them last week
with no response yet.
Thanks,
Terry.
I use the SSL Client in UpdatePatrol and I've been very happy with it.

Your question has been answered on saturday. Please check your mail filters.
Alternatively use HelpDesk ( http://www.eldos.com/support/ticket_list.php ).
This way no e-mail gets lost.

I've re-sent the message from our company account and also via GMail. Got NO
delivery confirmation in both cases.

I'm also considering Eldos SSL, but was wondering if the
SSL component is easier to figure out than the one that
comes with Indy9? I'm trying to get INdy10 installed,
but the latest snapshots have been fruitless.

As SecureBlackbox's IOHandler class for SSL uses the native Delphi code, you
can setup it easier and also certificate management is much more flexible.
Let me take back that comment. I'm currently migrating my product to C++
Builder 2007, and the C++ Builder 2007 version of SecureBlackBox comes with
unsupported helper libraries for Indy10 which is included with C++ Builder
2007. Eldos' response has been that there are so many problems with Indy10
that they are not going to officially support it, without giving reference
to what kind of problems they think are stopping them from having official
support for Indy10. I ofcourse doubt this is true, otherwise Indy10 would
not be delivered with C++ Builder 2007.
Or am I completely wrong? I use the Indy HTTP client, POP3 client and SMTP
client and haven't seen any problems yet with the migrated project using
Indy10 - except for lack of support from Eldos.

Take the tip use Eldos.
I banged my head against a wall for over a month with Indy 9 and 10.
using ssleay32 never worked.
Then I bought Eldos installed it and it worked first time.
Would have saved the company a lot of money had I done this first up.
Kind Regards,
Robert.

That's what I did! Now Eldos say they won't fix a few things in the Indy
wrapper they deliver with the components because of "all the problems with
Indy - it simply doesn't work in C++ Builder" which I find to be an untrue
statement,. I have used both Indy9 and now Indy10 with C++ Builder and
SecureBlackBox without any problems as far as I know. The problem is that
their wrapper doesn't compile under C++ Builder out of the box, and they
apparently refuse to fix it because "Indy doesn't work with C++ Builder"
(their claim).

C++ Builder 2007, at least as far as using pascal code goes, is simply
so broken that it's for most 3rd party developers of delphi components
not possible to support.
In particular I want to draw your attention to this QC entry:

In relation to that I would also like to point out this blog entry from

I had major issues trying to get the Indy9SSL running. I wasn't
even sure what was going on and thought that perhaps I'm just
not smart enough to use SSL. :I

Well, we all live and learn. Though it's not wrong to try
it first with what you have before going for something else.
