I bought this almost a year ago and I can't get support from the
developers on this major issue. I just want to know if anybody else is
having this problem, even if somebody just downloads the newest trial and
runs the precompiled test burning app. Basically any burn speed (CD or
DVD) other than MAX ends up burning at slowest speed. Its driving me
insane that it does this! I tried the ActiveX trial version and it works
as it should.

I have it and registered, with sources. I will have a look at it.

recommend this product.

You have the source? Great because I burned using the logging feature
(latest MCDBPRO120R) version and right there in plain site you can see the
component doing Set CD Speed multiple times, and the last time its way
below set speed, even below the supported slowest speed.

Here I used the Small Demo to burn a single 5meg file at 24x. As you can
see it sets that speed at first, but then changes it before it starts
writing.

During the entire write process it runs Mode Sense and Get Config CDBs!!!
There is no need for that and no other burning app does that. To make it
one step weirder, it would burn once this way, the next it would burn
correctly without Mode Sensing and Get Config CDBs during Writing, as it
should be. I burned 8 identical CDs in a row, and the log files alternated
between two different log file sizes. One burned correctly, then one
burned like the sample snippet, then one correct, then one not, etc...

Very strange. I closed & restarted the app for every burn too. I'm out of
ideas, and my customers are running out of patience.

I have to agree. The help file for Magic Burner is the worst I've seen
period. Everytime there is an update they change unit naming so its never
a simple upgrade. I'm looking into StarBurnSDK at the moment. Drop a post
if you find something better than StarBurnSDK.

I did some tests with NMSDVD http://www.numediasoft.com/Products.aspx
and had no problems.
