I would recommend using JvMemoryData from the JVCL, which is based on
RxMemoryData. It contains bug fixes and enhancements over the old
RxMemoryData.

Check for code in event handlers that could cause infinite recursion.

I would also recommend you have have a look at TkbmMemTable by Kim Madsen -
it is by far the BEST memory table on the Delphi / CB market.

'BEST' requires specific requirements. I like kbm for some things (e.g.
index mulitple fields), and TdxMemData quick and easy implementations.

The $15 is a bargain - for as much as I use TkbmMemTable in EVERY product I
write these days, I would have paid $150 for it (and no KM I am NOT pledging
any more $$ than you asked for <BG>)!

Ed,

How is TdxMemData any quicker to setup than TkbmMemTable?

One of the most overlooked features that TkbmMemTable has is its delta
handlers - I have a simple non-visual component that I wrote that allows me
to attach one + its events to a TkbmMemTable and it allows updating
databases so EASY!

No need to be disappointed. Its still totally and completely free!
The documentation has never been free. That is what cost US$15, not the
components nor source.

Still free for standard. The $15 is for a help file. The order page now
refers to it as a documentation license. See:

there are very few properties with a TdxMemData, clean, easy--add the
fields, done. I use in memory datasets for lookup fields and TdxMemData is
quick and easy.

I am guess I am just being dense since setting up a TkbmMemTable can be the
same way - just add fields, populate, done.

But I have to admit I haven't looked at TdxMemTable in a while.

As I remember, TRdxMemoryData uses the BDE. Isnt'?

Why not use the TClientDataset instead as memory dataset?

Have you made any changes to one of the event handlers?
