I don't have D5 or DAOExpress, but do use QRD with a third party DAO/ADO VCL
(gm). I should think the same principles apply. Here's how it works:
1) Place all TDatasources in one or more datamodules
2) Set TQRepDesigner.UseDatamodules = true
When you fire up the ReportDesigner from the application you should see all
the datasources.
Could you let me know how it went?
Also, what did you need to do to compile QRD under D5?

That's more or less what I did. I can use QRD with FlashFiler from
TurboPower with no problems. However, with ADO I cannot see any
DataSources when I open the report designer.
To get QRD to compile I basicaly just replaced all the $IFDEF VER120
with $IFDEF VER130. I mad a couple of other small changes, but nothing
significant.
Another reason to stick with gmADO instead of ADOExpress <G>?!

Hi Pierre
I just checked out Timo's web site and this is there:
"Finally (after more than 2 weeks!) German Telekom managed to get our ISDN
lines fixed and we are back online. All open Emails
and orders will be processed as soon as possible. A Delphi 5 compatible
version of QRDesign (including fixed DBIsam support)
will be released this weekend. "
I purchased QRD some time ago, however I never did use it as support was
woefull and I deemed it too risky. It's a shame really, as it could have
become a really good product with a bit more support & effort behind it. I
think he actuallly priced it too cheap, and doesn't make enough from it to
live on, so his time is probably taken up elsewhere making a living? Of
course QR's bad reputation would't have helped either!

I hadn't looked in on his site for a few days. That's good.

I think I was one of the very first purchasers of QRD. In fairness,
generally Timo's always been there when I got stuck (even when the problems
were QR releated, not QRD).
On QR, have you looked in on them lately? Seems there is a site update every
couple of days. They posted some new example projects a day or so ago. I
have to add that 3.05 and QRD is working pretty good for me now. I just hope
it isn't too little, too late!
All the best.
