I need a Delphi native WYSIWYG HTML Editor component, which should
eventually have the ability to print out with ReportBuilder. Who knows a
good component for this?
I know WPTools, but it is not what I need. The differences from RTF preview
and the HTML output are to much. So it is not usable for me because I must
have a real HTML WYSIWYG Editor.
Bye Rolf.

there is generally a big need for editors , but absolutely no delphi
components available,
I suggest to buy a rtf-component with html-export,
te developers kit (www.subsystems.com) is at the moment the only one with
acceptable editor quality ( unlike wpTools: much better html, nested tables,
flickerfree
and stable editing) but is not Delphi, but you get the c++ source which you
can
recompile with CBuilder.

Well, If you tell me what you want maybe we at InnerFuse could make it this
upcoming summerholiday....

>Most people recommend Dave Baldwin's component at www.pbear.com
Dave's component's are okay for viewing, but they're not for editing.
I've thought about trying to create a WYSIWYG editor for HTML with CSS
positioning, but it's a pretty daunting task. Reading and writing HTML
and style sheets is not a problem for me. I can parse and write them
in all versions of HTML from v2 to v4.1 and for any specific browser
from Netscape v1 - v4 to IExplorer v2 - v5. Design time tables and
proper z-order positioning on the other hand are pretty tough..not
impossible, just tough and would take more time than I have
available..

Weyert, HTML will soon be yesterday. What many of us really want is a
XML+CSS editor (which generalizes a WYSIWYG HTML editor).
$1000 wouldn't be too expensive for such a component, assuming it had high
quality.
Warning: You do not want this to be your summer holiday project. Because
then you would be as stupid as I typically am, sitting in front of a
computer instead of spending time outside with good friends and looking at
the girls. :-)
(Besides, you would have to be ÜberCoder in order to make a XML+CSS *viewer*
during your summer holiday, an editor is harder)
Cheers,
Jarle
Yes, I really now. First of all CSS terible easy as long you have good and fast
interpreter (we have that *grin*) and XML needs some research between 1-10 june.

Ooh, My plan was to ask for $30 for it, but $999 is also nice :)

No no, I also need to go to San Diego <G>
I also work in the summer from 06.00 and 13.00 (earning 11,- HFL per hour) and
from 13.00 ?? noving. So that could be developing, or friends :)

The only hard part is making the "paint engine" itself, but I directly know that
I also want to make a editor so I could keep this in the background. So I would
have easier way to great the editor.
Ooh yeah, my domains: www.weyert.nl and www.weyert.com/

What's the trick?

Amen.
To do it right would be a major undertaking..

No idea, I think the hosting service playing with me :(
Anyway, I have plans to update my website begin june, because now I have my
final exams!

Je n'ai comprends pas!
What do you mean!?!?!?
I thought that was a pretty straight-forward statement.
It simply means that creating a robust WYSIWYG HTML editor would not
be a simple task. If it were, we'd be swamped with WYSIWYG HTML editor
components..
It may look simple on the surface, but there are a lot of functions
that the editor would need that would be hard to incorporate.
How do you build the parse tree? How do you allow for WYSIWYG table
creation and manipulation? How do you associate HTML tags with their
style sheet elements? How do you deal with frames? How do you handle
scripting? How do you deal with HTML tag inclusions and exclusions.
How do you save/load pages that are being worked on - in a proprietary
format ala NetObjects Fusion, or straight HTML like FrontPage?
The list could literally take a couple of pages..
